THE BORING (BUT REALLY QUITE IMPORTANT) BIT

Your full payment must be received before we can confirm your booking, but once your holiday has been confirmed it forms a binding contract between us and the following conditions of hire form the basis of this agreement:  
1. Our camp’s safety and other rules must be observed at all times – we try to keep rules to a minimum and we will do our best to make sure you have a relaxing and brilliant time, but some things just need to be set out in rules, especially where your health and safety is concerned and that of other campers.  
2. Sorry, we can accept no responsibility for loss of or damage to goods, or injury or death to persons, to the extent that such liability can be lawfully excluded. Cars, cycles, electronic devices, vehicles, motor caravans and tents, together with their contents and any accessories are left at your own risk. We cannot be held responsible for any loss of or damage from or to any vehicle or its contents whatsoever. We don’t expect bad stuff to happen and take all reasonable precautions to avoid any such incidents & we ask that you do the same.  
3. If we are unable to make available the pitch or property booked through circumstances completely beyond our control (e.g. fire, flood), either alternative accommodation or booking postponement will be provided.  
4. No refunds will be offered if you cannot complete your stay for any other reason. Sadly, this will include if we have to ask you to leave due to being too noisy at unreasonable hours or other seriously anti-social behaviour likely to offend either our staff or our other guests. It’s simple – be nice and have no worries!
5. We regret that monies paid are non-refundable/transferable, except for 3 above and 12 below.  
6. The number of people must not exceed the number stated when the booking was made except by prior arrangement, and in any event shall not exceed the capacity as advertised. If the number of people in your booking changes please just drop us a line and we will do our best to accommodate you all.  
7. We reserve the right to decline adult only group bookings. Where we choose to accept adult/mainly adult groups this is on condition that our “Group enquiry form” has been completed and that you have agreed to pay a prior to arrival. So long as we’ve not had to ask you more than once to abide by our noise limits and you recycle all your rubbish, However, should just one person in your group fail to abide by our clear and simple requests, the whole group will lose their booking.  
8. 14 to 17 yr. olds must have written (email) parental permission and contact details sent prior to arrival  
9. Facilities and amenities may be altered or withdrawn if circumstances beyond our control necessitate this (e.g. Health and Safety rules, drought orders, excessive rainfall, another attack by swamp monsters etc.).  
10. For reservations made more than 48 hours in advance the full cost of the stay must be paid in full at the time of booking.  
11. Music MUST be turned off at 10pm & 11pm after-which fireside chatter is fine, singing, screaming and shouting is not. We will ask only once – then you’ll be asked to leave.  
12. Cancellations. We know that sometimes the unexpected does happen and you have to cancel your holiday. All cancellations will be refunded in accordance with the following terms:  
• For any cancellations made more than 28 days before date of arrival 80% of the amount paid will be refunded  
• For any cancellations made less than 28 days but more than 14 days before date of arrival 50% of the amount paid will be refunded
• For any cancellations less than 14 days from the date of arrival, none of the amount paid will be refunded.  
• On the camp please note that if you reduce the number of people, we are unable to give you a refund.  
• Please also note that we will deduct any commission fees charged by third party booking systems and the processing fee charged by our payment provider.  
If your cancellation is owing to either testing positive for Covid19 or travel restrictions, we would ask you to simply postpone your stay. If that is not possible, we will refund your fee less a ksh 100 administration fee.  
13. Hirers are responsible for making good any damage or breakages, replacing like with like wherever possible. Please advise reception of any breakages or damages as soon as possible during your holiday. We won’t rip you off with any breakage charges but please do be honest.  
14. We ask that all your rubbish is separated into the four bins provided as follows:  
• Cans/plastic  
• Glass  
• Card/paper  
• The rest  
• Food  
We’ve even put wording pictures on them, so they are hangover proof!  
15. In the event of a complaint, please notify Reception immediately so that this can be resolved to your satisfaction during your holiday. Unfortunately, we cannot be held liable for any shortcomings if these are not reported at the time. Please don’t vent your dissatisfaction via a poor review without giving us the opportunity to fix it.  
16. Dogs are allowed if the appropriate fee is paid. Pets are allowed on the understanding they are not permitted on any furniture and are kept under close control at all times while on the site. You agree to clear up after your dog and to dispose of the waste in the nearest poo bin –this means a 100% on site picking regime – no flicking!  
17. You are welcome to have visitors come to you pitch but for the security and safety of all on the site all visitors must sign in at reception and leave their vehicles in the visitor’s car park before entering the camping fields. Please note that when the site is very busy we may not be able to accommodate any visitors. All guests must be off site by 10pm at the latest.

Covid-19 Policy

So, what’s going to be different?  

Government guidelines are changing all the time so we will edit these measures as and when things change but for now:  

Booking : 
In order to keep within the maximum number of pitches we can make available owing to greater distancing, all bookings must be made online, telephone or email prior to arrival as the last thing, we want to do is turn you away! You’ll receive a booking confirmation email and just prior to arrival please check your inbox for two further emails explaining important stuff you need to know and have fresh in your mind during your stay. Expectation is everything so please take a read and make sure all those staying with you are made aware before you set off.  
Check in/out:  
Please note our new times:  
Own accommodation: Arrival from 2pm to 8pm. Departure by 12pm  
Our accommodation: Arrival from 4pm to 8pm. Departure by 10am  
On arrival, please park where indicated and come to Reception once the person before you has been checked in. Please make sure you have the name of the person who made the booking.  
We will then ask each person over 15 years to provide us with their contact details for Track & Trace.  
We’ll then guide you to your pitch based upon the information we have about your booking. Sorry, pitching will be more precise than usual, but we’ll do our best not to make it feel that way!  
Toilets and showers:  
Toilets will be open and as well as our usual cleaning regime a deep clean will also take place each day. Showers will be open all day and deep cleans will occur throughout the day.  
Whilst we will provide toilet paper you may of course wish to bring your own.  
Communal areas:  
Our reception, Information tent will sadly have to remain closed to the public this year. This means that we cannot provide you with a hard copy of our guide so please access our online version to answer any questions about pretty much anything.  
Group bookings:  
We are accepting group bookings but these are subject to the lifting of current Government restrictions in relation to group gatherings.  
Our accommodation:  
There are specific cleaning guidelines about how we clean each of our units and what you need to do to help us.  
Campfires:  
Don’t worry, we’ll still be supplying, logs, kindling, paper and lighters!  
Postponements and cancellations:  
Should government restrictions or Covid related health issues mean that you are unable to fulfil your booking we will either postpone your stay to any future date or refund your stay less a ksh1000 administration charge. These terms override our standard T&C’s

CHECK-IN  

Check-in time is from 12pm till 8pm daily. however if you’re staying in our V-huts or Banda we need a little time to make them clean and tidy for you so whilst we’re happy for you to arrive, check-in and leave your car here, your accommodation will be ready from 4pm.  

CHECK-OUT  

We’re pretty laid back about check out times as we think you’ll probably like to take your time – especially if the suns popped its head out! We simply ask you to leave by 6pm. If you’re in one of our V-hut or banda however we ask you to vacate them by 12pm – by all means stick around till 6pm!  

Pitching 

We’ll explain this to you when you arrive – we’re pretty relaxed about where you go – just bear the following in mind:  
• Some grass-pitches have no power- hook-ups.  
• For obvious reasons we tend to pitch the large groups and parties furthest away on the field.      
• On some busy weekends we may use white chalky lines to indicate where we would like you to pitch.

As always, we are easy going about how much space you take up, but if you can pitch along the line, that will help us to keep access routes clear.

VISITORS

We welcome visitors – it’s a great way to spend a day and we hope you’ll want to return to camp another time! We simply ask that you make a small donation to our charity on arrival to cover your use of our facilities – not bad for a day out!

EMERGENCY

FIRE

Whilst we’re on the topic of fires – should you believe there to be an emergency please use an extinguisher from one of the Fire-Points to deal with the problem and have someone sound the alarm-bell if you feel others may be in danger. Our Assembly point is the car park. In case of a major emergency, please make your way there. Any incident MUST be reported to reception and recorded in our Accident book.

MEDICAL

If you’ve hurt yourself in any way we’re here to help you. We have a fully stocked first aid kit, trained first aiders and will do our best to provide you with basic first aid supplies. Please report all accidents to reception as we need to keep a record.

…the Nderit corridor Line path (starts within yards of the site) which runs along the perimeter fence of Lake Nakuru National Park and Soysambu Conservancy  The route is recommended from the camp.
