5 THINGS TO DO OFF THE CAMP

There’s loads of stuff to do round here – even we’ve not done them all and we live here!
We’ve picked a few below and there’s more in our useful stuff section but if there’s something you’d like to do you can’t see listed just ask one of us.

The Lakes

Different lakes in Kenya pose different appeals. There are lakes that are bird watchers paradises, lakes that are home to spectacular scenes of hot springs and geysers, lakes with islands, lakes Kenya shares with other countries and lakes that have some of the most interesting stories of how they came to exist.

Some of the key lakes include Lake Elementaita, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, Lake Naivasha and Lake Victoria.

The forest

There is nothing that screams nature louder than a forest. With the green trees, frequent rains, nature trails, birds chirping on the trees, rivers flowing and the sun’s rays making their way through trees to the smaller ones, you couldn’t go anywhere else to experience all these at once.

Thousands of endemic and exotic tree species grow and make home to a thousands of species of mammals, Birds and herbivores. Come and experience the grandeur, beauty and diversity of Kenya’s forests.

safari adventure

The name Safari means Journey, expedition and is of Swahili origin. The diversity of game in Kenya is simply astounding. From the big five to the small five, Kenya’s game parks, reserves and other wildlife protection areas host some of the wildest game – thus the reason why this is home for the safari.

The icing on Kenya’s wildlife cake is the annual Wildebeest Migration at the infamous Masai Mara.

The mountains

The highest mountain in Kenya, which is also the second- highest mountain in Africa, is Mount Kenya, standing at 5,199 metres (17,057 ft.) tall.

Seven of Kenya’s mountains, Mount Kenya, Mount Elgon, Mount Satima, Chepunyal Hills, Cherang’any Hills, Mount Kulal, and Mount Ng’iro, are among the ultra prominent peaks of Africa.

the beach

Kenya coastline on the Indian Ocean, the choices are endless: Mombasa, Watamu, Malindi and Diani.

Here you can swim, stroll or try your hand at a little fossil hunting.
